I noticed your querry here, from the info. from the Indian Terr. board I was wondering if it may have been a Volcanic pistol(Winchester/Smith&Wesson)With this being an older weapon than the Savage. There could have been more to make it to Tex. by '61 for Capt. Stuart to obtain one.
