Since no one has answered your question I will attempt to do so from memory. Richmonds were made using the captured M-1855 tooling from Harpers Ferry. They were not made in .69 cal. only .58.

What is the nose cap and the butt plate made of, iron or copper colored brass? You must have one of the first batch made at Richmond since it is dated 1861. If you can email me a couple of pictures of the lock, end of the barrel and the ramrod.
