My grandfathers brother was given a Colt pistol that his uncle found near the cabin creek battlefield in Oklahoma. The pistol has 2 matching serial numbers but the wooden handle is gone along with the hammer. If anyone knows of a unit that used these at either battle or where I could find some info using the serial numbers it would be greatly appreciated.
