It is well documented that Austrian military firearms were purchased by both Union and Confederate armies. I don't know about purchases of swords, however. I have never seen anything written about that.

Unless you could find information that one side purchased swords, and not the other, I think that it would be impossible to tell which side this came from originally.

If you don't get a better answer than that here, post you question on the board at the link below. Several authors of books about swords answer questions on that board.
