I just bought a P-1853 Enfield. The barrel has the standard Birmingham proofs on the side. The lockplate has the crown behind the hammer and 1862 over TOWER in front. The only other markings that are visible is the letter Z stamped on the bottom in front of the trigger guard. Is anyone familiar with this marking. This is my first post here and any help would be great. Thanks in advance.
