The Confederate D-guard Bowies are being reproduced and fairly accurately. I have one and I am having a russett leather (English russett) scabbard made for it now. My D-guard Bowie knife has a 8-1/2" blade, cherry wood handle and a brass D-guard. It was excellent for chopping camp firewood and dispatching any yank that may appear.
The Bowie is worn on the waist belt, left hip, D-guard forward for a fast cross-draw.
