Thanks for the reply. I wasn't aware of the conflicting date information. I believe Hood's division did pass through Frederick on the 12th (I could be mistaken, I'll have to double check my sources). If the actual date is the 10th, it could possibly point to some other ANV unit then. I was also wondering if the original photo or plate had ever been examined to see if it would be possible to enhance the images to possibly identify belt buckles, buttons, etc, to more readily identify the particular regiment. The print I have is pretty indistinct with respect to individual soldiers, so this may be ultimately impossible.
