my father has purchased an Elgin pockwatch made in 1844.
it has an inscription to the union and has 3 dates that are battles.
Iuka mississippi sept 19 1862
Corinth miss. oct 3rd and 4th
Vicksburg July 4,1863
it has inscription that reads 80th O.V. Inf and Mississippi Marine Brigade and July Or Jany (sic)?18, 1865
ive found all batlles and list of people in both divisions
Would really like to find out who this might belong to but info is quite extensive. Dad will sell it pretty quick and i think it might be of historical value. He sells watches so he sees $$$$$$ any input would be appreciated.
