It was ordered by the City of Boston , a U.S.Navy sword with heavy sterling silver hilt, the guard is OAK LEAVES comming out of a Dolphin's mouth with a sea horse head.the City seal is on the guard, Gold bands on the grip and the hilt is Neptune's head & shield of Emeralds, Roman faces and a serpent being grasped by an American Flying EAGLE.. the blade is etched in GOLD , a figure of a Sailor & Liberty w/ U.S.N. and scrolls, the scabbard has C.S.W. in diamonds on a shield - can be seen at Smithsonian, Wash. D.C.
