I have recovered a butt plate from an 1853 Enfield. On the top of the tang is stamped 365 B. At first I thought it was a unit designation. After a quick search I have not been able to find any units listed as the 365th anything. Does anyone out there have any ideas or can you point me in the right direction on how to track down or determine what the 365th was?
