BTW, you might also want to contact the Smithsonian. They have the wood patent model and use to display it in their firearms section of their American History Museum before they closed that section for remodelling. You have to contact the curators and ask/beg for permission to examine it. Wash hands thoroughly to remove oils/acids first and you'll have to wear white cotton gloves.
