First, check the serial numbers and make sure they match. The web site "springifled research service" may or may not tell you a specific regiment the pistol was issued to. If you reach a "match", pay the $50 to have it verified by someone like Vonnie Zullo of the Horse Soldier Research Service. Thnat will increase the value 2 - 3 times. If it needs repair, I recommend East Taylor LLC, he does great work - again he's on the net. As far as value right now, Check with The Horse Soldier, Shiloh Relics, Fields of Glory, or Damon Mills, all reputable Civil War artifact dealers. They're all on the net.
