The item pictured is reported to be called a J tool, for Flint-Lock Muskets. The pointed end is supposed to be used to help tighten the screw that holds the flint in the hammer, or cock, and the flat part acting as a screw-driver.

This relic was reportedly dug near Shiloh. (outside of Park boundary)

Does anyone have any info, or where to get info on such a tool? I'm looking for titles of books with references of this item
