Was there such a critter as a globe sighted, set trigger Springfield rifle? Never saw any documentation but I was reading one of Ambrose Bierce's short (fictional) stories and was wondering if there's any historical basis for it. It wouldn't be hard to install a globe sight or to install a set trigger on a Springfield.
