Leman Conversions Numbering system?

I have been looking at the serial number of a 72 caliber Augustan Tubelock that was converted by Leman of Penn. While the conversion is the same as we see on so many 3rd class guns - the numbering system is not.

On US guns that I have dismantled - there is usually just a serial number on the barrel and on the replaced breech.

This tubelock has a letter and number code stamped on the bulk of the metal parts. (T82) If you assume a hundred per "letter" batch this would be number 1582 converted.

Has any body else looked at these numbers and seen similar letter/numbering on these 72 caliber imported muskets?

Thanks for any help - Gene
