Thanks again, I do have the CD "Roster of the Confederate Soldiers of Georgia" by Lillian Henderson, and it is somewhat hard to use. Our local historical group has several volumes of Georgia rosters from another source, I will try to use them soon. The one name I was mostly interested in was my GGGrandfather, I found him in the infantry. He served in Co. A 30th Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry. joining on Sept. 25, 1861, surrendered at Greensboro on April 26, 1865. This regiment was engaged in some of the hottest battles in the West. From Chickamauga, thru New Hope Church, Resaca, Peachtree Creek, Jonesboro, Mufressboro, Franklin, and the list goes on. In just glancing over most of this company, there were very few that served until the surrrender of Gen. Johnston. So naturally I was thinking he may have served in some type of support capacity. I will keep looking and hopefully will find something. Francis M. Wise, shows enlisting as a private but nothing after that other than the battles engaged in and the surrender. thanks again, tom
