I would agree with the comments from both Kevin and Jim. First you should find a unit you are comfortable with. The unit generally has a standardized listing of clothing and equipment requirements in which one purchases to belong to.
My 15 years of experience has shown that the three-band Enfield is a much easier weapon to clean and maintain, that the springfields or CS richmonds.
