Actually you must look at several things to determine value, your sword appears to be a 1840 or 1860 cavalry sword, it could be US manufactured, foreign manufactured or southern manufactured. Condition and maker are the determiniing factors. Detailed close up photos of the grip, blade and any markings on the blade or the grip .
If US made, marked and dated, might range from 250-over a thousand , if foreign maker, a few hundred, if southern made, several thousand. So, take detailed photos and send them to someone who is educated and can help you or you may sell for pennies on the dollar to an unscupulous collector or dealer. Take your time.
