Hi-

I'm looking for some detailed data comparing the velocities and drop of the balls fired from the .69 Model 1842 smoothbores vs. the bullets from .58 Springfields or Enfields. I've seen bits and pieces, initial velocities, some estimated drops at various ranges, but surprisingly little detail.

I guess the first question is what range would each be sighted for in factory new configuration? I don't believe they were the same.

Once that is determined I'm curious as to the velocities every 50 yards or so for at least 300 yards (probably out to 500) and the relative drop. I'm curious as to how soon the velocities cross one another.
