Question from the past: Some years ago I was looking over an estate of a local which included a Spencer Rifle with a four diget serial number and was equiped with double set triggers. I've always been curious about this arm. It had been wrapped in some sort of "protective" cloth or scabard that had caused some deterioration of the rifle from about 3 inches in front of the receiver to 4 inches behind the muzzle.
