Some months ago, there was considerable discussion regarding identification of Sinclair Hamilton marked Tower Enfields and the order that the letters S, H and C appeared.
Geoff mentioned familiarity with the commonly accepted grouping of letters, while Mike mentioned an alternate grouping. Recently, I took my 1861 Tower to the Antique Roadshow and the appraiser advised that there is an authoritative book coming out that will answer questions regarding the Sinclair Hamilton markings. He valued my Tower between $2500-3000 and said it was in very nice shape. However, he remained noncommittal as to whether he thought the Crown andS,H and C(alternate grouping) indicated a Sinclair Hamilton acceptance or not. Curious if Geoff, Mike or any other of our knowledgeable Tower experts have heard anything about the definitive new book?
