Sword identification needed

Gentlemen, I have a photo of a sword that was the property of Lt. John Daniel Cooper, Co. G 7th Regt. Miss. Inf. The owner, a relative, has tried for years to identify the manufacturer, etc., to no avail. Recently we obtained original-source contemporary information that leads us to the possibility that the sword is a captured union sword Cooper obtained from a union staff officer [purported to be from a NY Regt.] who he captured in a night scout behind enemy lines at New Hope Church, GA May 1864. I will try to attach a copy of the photo here. if that doesn't work, contact me by email if you would like to identify the sword. IT IS NOT FOR SALE, so don't waste my time if that is your purpose.
