Could someone help me? I have recently acquired what I believe to be an Enfield musket. It is marked with 1861 above tower and has the crown and V-R stamp as well. The barrel is octagonal to the first band and round from there to the end of the barrel with only two bands. Other than a couple of barrel stamps just forward of the percussion nipple there are no other markings. The buttplate has a few numbers stamped on it. I have looked all over the internet and can't find a photo of an identical rifle.
