A question for all to consider:
According to House Ex. Doc. 99, 40th Congress, 2nd Session, J.B. Kinsman sold a total of 200 "breech-loading rifles" on Jan. 2 and 13, 1862 to the Federal Government at a price of $40 per weapon. Does anyone have any idea what type of weapon these were? Was Kinsman a regular arms seller?
