As a volunteer on staff with the Manchester Historic Association in New Hampshire, I have been researching the manufacture of the Amoskeag 1861 Rifle Musket and the 1861/63 Lindner Carbines. Unfortunately, we have very little information - other than copies of 4 patents and an 1870 death date - on Edward Lindner, who designed the 1861 carbine, the 1841 Mississippi and other conversions, and probably lived in Manchester in the 1860's.
Any information on this "German mechanic from New York City" would be appreciated.
