Just a further note, if you ever have the opportunity to handle a "Sharps" you will note first the weight of the barrel of thegun and then revel at the strength these guys had to just put the gun up,. The tripod or forked stick was surely a neccesity if you had to wait, wait, and just a little more wait on your target...I am only 5'2" and I it was so long and so heavy I could not get it all the way up, much less look down the site! : ))LOL
