Moved from Mississippi in the CW Message Board

I have located two types of Confederate haversacks- one has a button-down flap, & the other has a belt/buckle fastening, but I don't know which is the "correct" one - most illustrations seem to show the button-down model. Also,I would like to find out if there were any markings on the haversack -name, regiment, comp. , etc.. or was this an individual thing? Any information will be greatly appreciated.
