Viewed your reference to above website...enjoyed. Also found the Museum of the Confederacy in Richmond claims to have in its possession the sword that Lee wore the day of the surrender. Interesting. Also Read an account that said Robert E. Lee was not wearing his sword and that a remark was made that it was "left in a wagon on the road to Appomattox." I suppose there are many stories about the sword. Obviously Grant did not demand the sword as a condition of surrender....since the Confederate Museum claims to be in possession of such.

Who was the maker of the fine/bejeweled sword?
