Short answer, No.

Colt Revolving Rifles and carbines used paper cartridges. To load one, you tear off the end of the paper cartridge, pour the powder into the cylinder, thumb the ball out of the paper cartridge wrapper, seat it on top of the chamber, rotate the cylinder under the loading lever, and pull down on the lever to seat the ball in the chamber. Repeat for each cylinder (5 in the .56 cal rifle, 6 in the .54 cal. carbine). The last step is to place a percussion cap on the cone in each cylinder. To fire, bring the weapon to full cock, aim, and press the trigger. Repeat for each cylinder. When the weapon is empty, start all over again...
