Another reason that prefab poles are not used widely in reenacting on A or Wedge tents is that the original supplied poles were six sided. They sometimes used an iron band around the pole to give it more durability. It is much easier to cut a sapling or use a 2x2 for a pole than fabricate the poles that resemble those that were supplied with these tents. I am not sure of the wall tents but I suspect the same problem exists as to the present day supply of correct tent poles.
