Years ago, they had a museum in Hartford, Conn. that had examples of the revolving rifle and other Colt firearms. The docent at the time said that the revolving rifle would have been a big commercial success if the charges in the cylinder did not have the annoying tendency to fire all at once. (How that occurred, I don't know.) After a significant number of mangled hands (think about it), Colt discontinued the manufacture of those rifles.
