It was a long wait, but, having in hand at last, my copy of Bruce Allardice's "Confederate Colonels" is well worth waiting for. His decade of research places the essentials at one's finger tips, with a very useful intro and back-up. Thanks to him and to you, it now sits beside "More Generals in Gray." This is the sort of reference that comes to be appreciated slowly, and then is often difficult to find. I'd urge others here to consider setting aside some "mad money" and invest in a copy.
