The Annual Report of the Adjutant General of the State of Missouri, December 31, 1863 stated:
"The Regiment is armed with muzzle-loading rifles, in bad condition and unfit for Cavalry service."
I know nothing about muzzle-loading rifles and I know there is practically no information here, but I was wondering if anyone could guess at what this rifle may have been.
(What muzzle-loading rifle would have been issued by the U.S. government in the TransMississippian theater?)
