I understand that these were issued fairly late in the war to a few units such as the 11th TN Cavalry US, but what would be considered a war time issued Maynard going by the serial number? From what I've read, the government had ordered 20,000 of these, but I am aware of an issued Maynard with a serial number in the 25,000 range.
