Thanks for the reply.
I have read the returns and was always bothered by how in some quarters the smoothbores of a regiment were shown as M1842 and the next quarter are shown as Conversion muskets (M1816/22), and then they would change back again.
I have seen a M1816/22 conversion musket that was attributed to the 116th by markings on the stock.
