I can't comment on the photo but the unit designations are certainly in order. Gilmer Light Guards (Company B, Smith's Legion, Georgia Volunteers ~ and afterwards ~ Co. A, 65th Georgia Infantry.) Colorful, David "enlisted" as a Pvt on Jan 24, 1864 and is reported as deserted Feb 23, 1864 at Dalton, Georgia.
