I have 1851 Colt Navy, 4 screw, iron strap, serial #88225, that I am curious about. I've had it for years. It's got a little bit of the etching left on the cylinder and has all matching numbers. It's notched for the shoulder stock and does not have any other markings other than the serial numbers and " Address Sam'l Colt Hartford Ct". on the barrel. Is this an unusual or rare model of the Colt Navy? Any info on this pistol would be welcome.
