Re: Colt Revolving Rifle in Louisiana 1861

Hendershott Museum Consultants recently sold a list of the equipment that was there in January 1861 that was turned over to the State of La. by Major Haskin. Perhaps they kept a record of the full content of the list and would provide you with a copy. Follows is the listing from the Hendershott catalog. Follow the link given to their website.

Description: Major J. A. Haskin, Captain First Artillery commanding Baton Rouge Arsenal - 8pg. folio manuscript inventory of the federal arsenal located at Baton Rouge, Louisiana, that was turned over to the state of Louisiana when it seceded from the Union on January 27, 1861. Excellent and historical content of the Ordinance (weapons and ammunition) captured by Confederate troops, brief excerpts as follows: 12 pounder siege gun, 8” siege howitzer, 2-6 lb. bronze guns, 1-6” mortar, 1-12 lb. siege gun carriage, 1-24 lb. siege gun carriage, one mortar wagon complete, etc.” Very Fine and rare (captured with Rebel Archives handstamped)
