A friend of mine has a 3-band Enfield musket with just the "crown" and "1862" on the lock. The word "Tower" is not present on this lock. The barrel has "25" and "25" on the left side in addition to at least three other proof/inspection marks. If anyone has information on this particular type of Enfield, particularly why "Tower" might not be on the lock, we'd appreciate hearing from you.
