1861 Enfield Rifle

My late husband purchased a this rifle as a child. I would appreciate anything anyone can tell me about it.
It is marked on the trigger plate - 1861 Enfield.
It has a crown behind the hammer. It is a single band. 37" end to end. The stock has a round stamp that looks like a crown, the word Enfield and the inititals "VR"
It us also stamped with a crown, kind of an X and the letter P in several places.
The plate on the end of the stock is stamped with the # 59 and what could be a 4I or 1.
