Folks,
I just found your message thread and have a question. I am a real neophyte at this but my grandfather gave me a Tower rifle in what I (as a pure amateur) would call "cherry" condition. Next to the trigger, it has a crown with what looks to be "V.R" below it (not in italics). To the right of the trigger and next to the "Tower 1858" is a small crown with the number 21 below it.
On the other side of the stock on the wood there is a circle about 1/4 inch in diameter with an "I.C" inside. Next to that is stamped the word FRASER. On the barrel between the hammer and the gun sight there are 3 stampings - D29 B96 B33 and another 3 stampings which are small crowns with letters or numbers below each crown I B26 TF respectively. 2 of the 3 metal rings holding the stock to the barrel have markings - the first B15 the second B34
On the gunsight is another small crown with the B54 under it.
The metal parts are worn but with no rust. Do you know what that all means?
Thanks,
Bill
