The USS Morning Light, captured by the Confederates on January 21, 1863, was said to have a "Butler Gun" on board that became damaged in the battle. The gun was described as a small rifled gun and Confederate sources after the battle suggested that it was called a Butler Gun because General Butler had given it to the ship. I can't find any other reference to it. Anybody ever heard of one of these or know anything else about it?
