The Arms & Equipment in the Civil War Message Board

Gentlemen and ladies, at a rescent plantation house sale I found an old springfield bayonet that had teeth filed in it.

On inquiry I found out that this bayonet had been dug on the property about 60 years ago. This house is in the OR's on both sides as the 19th., 16th. and 12th. Army Corp.'s camped on the and many different Confederate units camped out there.

Have any of you seen a bayonet altered this was. I would hate to have been stuck with this one as it would have pulled your insides out with it when it was pulled out.
