Bowditch Civil War Sword

I am trying to locate a sword that was sold at the Wiley Sword Auction in 2001. Lieut. Nathaniel Bowditch was the eldest son of my great-great-great grandfather. Any information on the sword would be much appreciated.

INSCRIBED U.S. MODEL 1860 CAVALRY OFFICER’S SABER AND IRON SCABBARD. Manufacturer: “Ames Mfg. Co., Chicopee, Mass.”. Inscription: “LIEUT. NATHANIEL BOWDITCH, A.A.A.G./ FELL MORTALLY, WOUNDED, MARCH 17, 1863/ AT KELLY’S FORD, VA./ AND DIED IN THE CAMP OF FIRST MASS. CAVALRY/ MARCH 18, 1863 Et 23 YRS. 3 MO. 12 D”
