Dear Chris,
I live in Tallassee Alabama where the carbine was made and have been researching the gun and the story behind the gun for over 10 years. The Armory where they were made still stands and is currently in the hands of our local historical society with plans to renovate and create a museum. I have also headed a committee for the past several years that is producing a museum grade reproduction of the Tallassee Carbine. These guns will be assembled within the walls of the original Armory where the first ones were made and some of the folks who have volunteered to help assemble them are descendents of the Confederate Armorers who worked there in 1864-65. I have every demension and piece of critical data that it is possible to get on a Tallasse Carbine as I had an authentic Tallassee to work from in my possession for over 5 months. I even know what the rifling twist was that they used. I know this message is about a year late in reaching you, but I only found out about you today 7-30-04. If you have any questions aobut a Tallassee that you have not had answered to your satisfaction, please feel free to contact me.
Yours for a free and independent South,
Bill Anthony
