Sir,

I have never seen any special reference to a "Georgia Enfield". This may have been Enfields specifically bought by the state of Georgia as authorized by Governor Joe Brown. They would not have been of any special manufacture but bought by Brown's agents for the use by some of the Georgia troops. Some correspondence exists on a blockade runner loaded with Enfields that Confederate authorities seized and sent to the Army of Northern Virginia and the Governor was pretty angry over the matter.
