Hello Gary and Hayes,
This message is for Hayes,
Where did you find that information about issued serial numbers? I own 2/3rds of a Remington Old Army or Beals, not sure. (The barrel and loading lever are missing as well as internal parts.)The frame has a different shape where it meets the front of the cylinder than the one that Gary ownes. Mine is serial number 6046. Can you point me in the right direction for serial number information? My gun has a grim marking though. It has 4 notches hand filed deep into the back end of the cylinder that are located between two of the nipples. These are deep in the rust and are certainly almost as old as this gun is. Thanking your for your responds in advance.
