Im pretty sure that the US troops that came in for the removal were still using the Model 1816/1822 flint lock muskets. Its interesting to note that a lot of these troops were Artillery, I know that the 3rd US was in the Chattanooga Area, and they were armed as Infantry. On a Civil War note, among the officers in this group were Adjt Robert Anderson, and Liets Bragg and Early.
