Hello,
A while back I read a little historical paper all about Cahaba, Al. during the War for Southern Independence. In it was a part of a letter or something from some gal that was a young woman during the Civil War. She said that one thing she remembered was that the local Confederates used a concoction of Oak and Sweet Gum tree bark to make dies for Confederate Grey. Have any of y'all ever read that and if so what was the recipy, amount or proportions of each, etc.?? Any details of that recipy.
Thanks,
David Edelen
