Here is some info you may find interesting,Ferdinand Cook came to the US from England at age 16,and lived and was employed in New York City, unhappy with his prospects there he moved to New Orleans in 1845.In 1855 his brother,Francis moved to New Orleans from NEW York City, where he lived and worked.In june of 1861 with an investment of $25,000.they established an armory at the corner of Canal and Common Streets in New Orleans.After the fall of the city inlate april of 1862, they went to Vicksburg,then to Selma.Alabama,and then to Athens Georgia.
